Meeting

Meet Martin and Jill Day. We live in Woking in the UK, have been married for over 30 years and have two grown-up children. In the past we have been actively involved in Anglican, Baptist and Free churches, in the last of which we became the sole staff members, employed to facilitate and coordinate. We now take our place in our local Christian community. We are the Days of Day2Day Conversations.

Martin & Jill Day

Martin

Having come to know Jesus first as a teenager, I have been involved in children's and youth work and in church leadership on and off since then. For 13 years I was lyricist and front man for Christian rock band, Salt Solution. I have experience of speaking and teaching, but my passion is to find different ways of communicating the truths I have learned. This can be through audio and video presentation, song and story. I am a collector of TV and film clips and I have written a book of contemporary parables. After two decades of work in IT I gained the know-how to craft several web sites and I enjoy video editing. As a sideline I run a fat-suit Sumo wrestling party business!

Jill

Like Martin I became a Christian as a teenager. After working in an Unemployment Benefit Office, and then as Office Manager of the Council's Architects Department, I became a stay-at-home mum. Through my Christian life I have been involved with youth work and have a gift for administration, frequently taking the initiative in new projects and managing events. I love to network and I have a pastoral heart. To supplement my other work I have a De-cluttering business helping people bring order to their homes and their lives.

Finance

We are partly self-financing but we also have a number of generous and faithful friends who support us personally. Without these wonderful people we would not be so available to continue with the work we love. Sometimes the people who benefit directly from our work also chose to make special donations to us. Part of our time working with our Christian community is freely given serving the BCC Trust, a registered charity.
